Love this song! My wife and I have been singing this one at home lately. It was our first dance, well unofficially. The musicians at our wedding played it before the staged 1st dance and we spontaneously danced to it. Its been a favorite ever since.

Over at thesession.org they say it was composed/arranged by Francie McPeake of Belfast. Commentors also point out that it is probably a reworking of The Braes o' Balquhidder, by the Scottish poet Robert Tannahill and reworking of a traditional Scottish melody.

Thanks for the post!

****You are welcome! It is a reworking of a trad song. This was a great arrangement. By the way, someone did put the Magnificat to the music--very beautiful as well.

Sorry to hear you weren't able to go to Ireland or Scotland this year. Thanks for sharing this song with us so we can all have a taste of being there. Hopefully next year you will be able to return for another visit to the Emerald Isle.

enjoy the song but I still think you need to go to New Zealand or Austria or Greece. Something new.....God can be found in many places
